Article #105: Vintage 1970's Tri-City Beverages Soda Bottle

 

n this new article we are taking a look at this vintage 1970's Tri City Beverages soda bottle. Tri City Beverages was introduced in 1951 originating in Johnson City, Tennessee. The company was started by Sam Harding and Charlie Gordon. The signature drink that they produced was Dr. Enuf. They were the first franchise bottler of Mountain Dew in 1954. In 1964 they sold the rights to Mountain Dew to Pepsi. At the former site of Tri City Beverages, a Tennessee historical marker recognizes the city as the home of Mountain Dew. On the front of the bottle you have where it says Tri City on the top as well as in the middle. It also says Delicious Quality Flavor.
