Article #68: Vintage 1958 7 Up Soda Bottle


In our 68th article we are looking at this vintage 7 Up soda bottle from 1958. 7 Up was created by Charles Leiper Grigg in 1920 by the Howdy Corporation. The formula for the drink came to be in 1929. Originally, the product was named Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda. On the front of the bottle you have the 7 Up logo at the top and in the middle of the bottle. And under the logo is one of the slogans which is You Like It It Likes You.

Here is a look at the back of the bottle where you have the same slogan as on the front of the bottle as well as one of the other slogans which is Fresh Up with 7 Up. You also have the ingredients and under that it points out that it is 7 ounces and it says Virginia. Usually you have the city and state on the back of bottles, but here you inly have the state listed.
