Article #57: Vintage 1950's Sun Drop Soda Bottle

Here in Article #57 we are looking at this vintage Sun Drop bottle from the 1950's. Sun Drop was developed in 1949 by Charles Lazier in Missouri. Lazier was a salesman of beverage concentrates. Lazier got the recipe down on a small piece of paper which he handed to his son, Charles Jr. Sun Drop debuted at the American Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages Conference in Washington, D.C. The formula was patented on April 15, 1930. Gastonia, North Carolina was the headquarters for Sun Drop for over 50 years and was there until 2016.  On the front you have one of the slogans at the top of the bottle which is Refreshing as a Cup of Coffee, as well as where it says Golden Cola.

Here is a look at the back of the bottle where you have a different slogan at the top which is Good to the Last Golden Drop, as well as where it says Sun Drop Cola under that. And then you have the Sun Drop logo.
