Article #35: Vintage Crush Soda Bottle

 

Here in our 35th article we are looking at this vintage Crush soda bottle. The brand started out as Orange Crush in 1911 and was created by chemist Neil C. Ward. In 1911, Clayton J. Howel who was the president and founder of the Orange Crush company partnered with Ward who made the recipe for Orange Crush. Crush premiered as Ward's Orange Crush. Flavors for Crush included Orange, Grape, Strawberry, Root Beer, Grapefruit, Lemon Lime, Cocoa and Cherry to name a few. The front of the bottle has the crush logo.
The back of the bottle also has the Crush logo.
Here is a close up of the back of the bottle where you have the Crush logo and it says where it was bottled. This one was bottled in Evanston, Illinois.
