Article #29: Vintage 1960's Sprite Soda Bottle

In our 29th article we are looking at this vintage Sprite soda bottle from the 1960's. This bottle has a very interesting story behind it. Back in the late 60's when this bottle was made, when my dad was 12 years old, he got this bottle out of a vending machine and this is how it came out, empty with the cap on the top. This bottle also says Hawaii National Park on the bottom. Sprite had a limited edition run of bottles that had names of national parks on the bottom. Sprite was created by T.C. Bud Evans who was a Houston based bottler. The drink known as Sprite today was developed in West Germany in 1959, Sprite was introduced in 1961 as a competitor to 7 Up. On the front of the bottle you have the Sprite logo at the top.
Here is a look at the back of the bottle where you have the logo at the top and under that it points out that it is made by Coca Cola.
Here is a close up view of the Sprite logo on the top of the bottle.
