Article #23: Vintage 1970's Nehi Soda Bottle

In our 23rd article we are looking at this vintage Nehi soda bottle from the 1970's. Nehi was introduced in 1924 by Chero Cola/Union Bottling Works by Claude A Hatcher who was a grocer and started bottling ginger ale and root beer in 1905. The Nehi name came into play in 1928 after Nehi's fruit flavored soda's started to become popular. The company changed it's name to the Royal Crown Company in 1955 after the success of RC Cola. Nehi had flavors like Orange, Grape, Peach, Lemonade, Chocolate and Root Beer to name a few. On the front of the bottle you have the Nehi logo at the top and in the middle of the bottle.
On the back of the bottle you have the logo at the top as well as the ingredients and where it was bottled.
Here is a close up of the back of the bottle. It points out that this one was bottled by Royal Crown in Hickory, North Carolina.
