Article #115: Vintage 1982 Coca Cola UNC Basketball National Championship Soda Bottle
In this new article, we will be looking at this vintage Coca Cola UNC basketball national championship soda bottle from 1982.
Coca cola was introduced in May 1886 where the first sales took place in Atlanta, Georgia. By 1888, 3 versions of Coca Cola sold by 3 separate businesses were on the market. The first bottling of the drink was in Vicksburg, Mississippi at the Biedenharn Candy Company in March of 1894.
This is considered a sought after soda bottle. It is promoting and celebrating the 1982 national championship for the basketball team which featured Micheal Jordan making an iconic game winning shot to secure the title.
At the top of the bottle, you have the Coke logo. In the middle of the bottle, you have the UNC mascot where it says #1 Tarheels.
Here is a look at the back of the bottle. At the top you have one of the slogans. The slogan is Coke is it!
