Article #12: Vintage 1962 Royal Palm Soda Bottle

 

Here in our 12th article we are looking at this vintage Royal Palm soda bottle from 1962. Royal Palm was distributed widley across Florida, the Carolina's, New York, New Jersey, Conneticut, Indiana and Georgia from the early 1900's to the 1980's. The brand started around 1912 at the Miami Coca Cola bottler per newspaper articles. There were a lot of Royal Palm happenings around that time including the Royal Palm hotel, and the popular Royal Palm soda fountain on Flagler Avenue.This bottle has a Applied Color Label (ACL) where you have a palm tree on each side of where it says Royal Palm. At the top of the bottle on the front it says Royal Palm and in the middle of that is a palm leaf. Royal Palm had flavors like Lemon Lime, Cream, Grape, Cherry, Orange, Root Beer and Strawberry to name a few. Most of the bottles had Applied Color Labels. The main logo was either green and white or red and white. The bottle sizes ranged from 6 ounces to 32 ounces. Royal Palms was owned and distirbuted by Coca Cola. This bottle was bottled in Bradenton, Florida.
